TES.POD

Renewable made reliable

Azelio’s TES.POD provides a unique solution to long-duration energy storage. An aluminum alloy is heated up to just under 600°C. When power is required heat is transferred to a Stirling engine through a heat transfer fluid. The Stirling engine can then provide 13 hours of electricity at continuous operating power -  and heat between 55-65C on demand.

TES.POD® vs Batteries

Azelio TES.POD is a unique long-duration energy storage system, designed for supply of affordable, renewable electricity and heat at all hours of the day. The storage suffers no degradation in capacity over time and generates zero emissions. Li-ion batteries have other characteristics and are mostly cost efficient for short duration storage of up to four hours.

AZELIO'S ENERGY STORAGE & STIRLING POWER WITH:

PV

With the use of Azelio’s solution for electrical heating of the energy storage, overproduction from PV can be stored as thermal energy with 13 h dispatchable electricity production. The TES.POD enables access to low-cost renewable electricity at all hours of the day. Load shifting enables system optimization and enhanced operation for both existing and planned PV installations.

Wind power

Having Azelio’s TES.POD connected to wind power means surplus electricity can be stored and dispatched when needed. Adaption to grid code and capacity firming for system integrators and existing installations. The wind power market is global and the TES.POD enhances the output and use of renewable energy through balanced production and demand.
