Azelio reaches milestone in South Africa
August saw a key achievement in Azelio’s collaboration with South African mixed farming company Wee Bee Ltd, as the first TES.POD long-duration energy storage units were installed at the project site in Coligny, North West Province.
Wee Bee Ltd has a current grid connection that is unreliable, expensive, and fossil-based. Azelio’s TES.POD long-duration energy storage solution will charge from solar PV, to provide dispatchable heat and electricity. The technology will reduce annual CO2 emission on site by 323 tonnes compared to the grid, as well as securing important farming processes by supplying clean power which is available around the clock.
