Azelio TES.POD modules leave Sweden bound for Abu Dhabi and South Africa
Azelio's energy storage system TES.POD charges from renewable sources such as solar PV, enabling affordable clean heat and electricity to be dispatched from the storage around the clock. The TES.POD unit has the assembly of its Stirling engine in Uddevalla, Sweden, and in collaboration with AQ Enclosure Systems, the assembly of the system's storage unit takes place in Vaggeryd, Sweden. Units are then shipped to locations around the world for assembly of the complete TES.POD.
Two TES.POD units were shipped to Azelio’s project currently installed in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, on 20th of December. The units will complement the additional verification and demonstration project and bring the installation in line with that of a commercial system and further provide project partners Masdar and Khalifa University with the opportunity to evaluate the solution for inclusion in Masdar’s product portfolio.
Deliveries of TES.POD units will be made to Wee Bee Ltd, starting from 29th of December. The TES.POD system, in combination with solar PV, will reduce annual CO2 emission on site by 323 tonnes compared to the grid, as well as securing renewable energy supply around the clock.
