A global network
of partners

We believe that working and growing together is key to a successful future. We have a global network of partners that all share the same ambition – to improve the world’s electricity supply with more efficient, sustainable and reliable solutions.

Better together

Our partners have different starting positions and orientation within the renewable energy field, but they all have a few things in common: Together we build mutual trust through cooperation in development and validation. We seek to create value for each other in various local projects, and we use each other’s competences to create leverage on different markets.

Masdar – the obvious research partner

The Masdar Institute Solar Platform (MISP) is located in the MENA epicentre of solar energy expansion and was the obvious research partner for our Thermal Energy Stor<age (TES) development. The institute’s strong capabilities in energy storage materials characterization, and the possibilities to demonstrate and validate systems in a harsh desert environment, has been crucial for optimizing the unique TES solution for our new concept.

The Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MI) was established in 2007 in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as an independent non-profit graduate level research university focused on advanced energy and sustainable technology. The Masdar Institute of Science and Technology is now a part of the Khalifa University of Science and Technology.

Datang – large scale installations

China is an important market for Azelio with a vast potential. They have decided to have 10 GW installed solar energy with storage by 2030. Azelio has been present in the region since 2010 working with Datang which is a Chinese project development company. They are now moving into large scale installations of solar power plants and energy storage. The goal is to develop new, dispatchable solar energy projects of 1 GW per year. Our collaboration comprises manufacturing, installation and development. An objective is to make the Stirling solar application dominant in China for new energy and manage to get its cost level competitive by localization. The first phase of the project includes Azelio’s already developed state-of-the-art Stirling Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technology. The second step will be implementing the new storage concept as soon as it’s industrialized and in full scale production.

Datang New Energy was founded in January 2016 and is a subsidiary of Datang International Investment Corp Ltd, known as Datang Holdings, with headquarters in Beijing, China. The company has a considerable number of projects under development suitable for Stirling CSP.
