Azelio met with Emma Nohrén, chairman of the government commission handling the environmental targets in Sweden and parliamentary candidate for the Swedish Environmental Party (Miljöpartiet), at its Åmål development centre on September 2nd. The visit was attended by CEO, Jonas Wallmander, and included a tour of site facilities and a presentation of the company’s long-duration energy storage solution.
During the discussions, Azelio was pleased to introduce its TES.POD thermal storage system, and the range of benefits it offers for the transition to reliable and clean energy.
With an ongoing energy crisis giving rise to soaring and unpredictable prices both in Sweden and abroad, businesses and consumers are increasingly in need of a decentralised solution that supplies stable power. At the same time, the climate crisis is accelerating societies’ need to integrate renewable sources into the wider energy mix.
Azelio’s solution addresses both challenges. Charging from renewable sources, Azelio’s TES.POD system stores clean energy as heat in recycled aluminium, making it available on demand as dispatchable electricity and heat with zero emissions.
Emma Nohrén commented on the visit: “Azelio has a solution to the problem of storing electricity in combination with solar cells! Very exciting and hopeful for the future, as the technology exists now.”

Azelio is a Swedish cleantech company. We have developed an ingenious long duration energy storage technology, providing dispatchable electricity and usable heat for all hours of the day – with zero emissions and at a very competitive cost.
