Azelio’s solution will store surplus energy from a 446 kW rooftop solar PV system, and provide Industrisupport i Åmål AB with on demand electricity and useable heat – reducing dependence on the local heating network. The TES.POD technology will increase renewable energy supply on site by 24% and reduce CO2 emissions from energy use by 168 tonnes per year.
“This is an important project for the renewable energy landscape, both in Sweden and further afield,” says Peter Gabrielsson, Azelio’s VP Operations. “For a fossil-free society, we need storage to make renewable energy controllable and available when it’s needed, in all geographical locations – not only in countries with a high solar concentration.”
