According to the South African National Development Plan, 18.8 GW of renewable energy will be required by 2030. For this, the South African government plans for a renewable energy mix with 8.4 GW of wind power, 8.4 GW of solar PV, and 1 GW of concentrated solar power (CSP). By comparison, Australia will require 26 GW of renewable energy by 2040 to replace the country's current coal-fired power plants, with an estimated 6 – 19 GW of dispatchable generation. He has worked with large mining companies as well as with the commercial sector in southern Africa. Prior to his role at Azelio, Reinhardt worked for a global leader in hybrid power solutions, where he was responsible for the company's larger accounts in southern Africa.
