TES.POD® arrives in Dubai
The Azelio TES.POD® has arrived on site at the MBR Solar Park in Dubai. With preparations underway for the unit's final installation (following a 7,500-mile journey that began in Uddevalla, Sweden) the project is beginning to take shape.
"Today the world gets a first glimpse of the TES.POD's arrival in Dubai," said Azelio's VP Operations Peter Gabrielsson, "and I am delighted to share these images with you this morning. The pandemic has of course created a testing environment on many fronts but the progress made by the team has been remarkable. This has truly been a collaborative effort from the whole company, as well as from our suppliers, partners and contractors, and we are all very exited about seeing the TES.POD in action at the MBR Solar Park soon."
The long-duration storage unit was lifted onto its final location where it will provide on demand renewable electrity to the Visitors' Centre at Phase 4 of the MBR Solar Park. The newly contrusted vistor's centre will welcome guests, dignatories, and media to the latest phase of the park that has already attracted considerable global attention for its size (77km2) and generating capacity (1GW).
"We are delighted with the progress the team has made so far. This has been a large effort from multiple teams in both Sweden and on the ground here in Dubai and we couldn't be happier with how the project is looking at the moment," says Fredrik Lisnell, Delivery Manager at Azelio.
