Jonas Eklind in Swedish Radio on CSP technology and Azelio's unique energy storage
Solar energy is a fantastic source of energy - as long as the sun shines. But there are methods of storing large amounts of thermal energy from solar radiation for use during the dark hours of the day. So far, the technology has been too expensive to be able to compete seriously with fossil fuels, but large investments in China are believed to lead to the price going down in the coming years.
"We visit Morocco's thermal solar research facility, where El Ghali Bennouna shows around. Johan Lilliestam, professor of energy policy at the University of Potsdam, explains why the Chinese investments are so crucial for this technology and Jonas Eklind, who is CEO of the company Azelio, tells about a Swedish-developed thermal solar power plant with a motor driven by heat."
